Revenue seize drugs worth €48,000 in Wicklow


On Wednesday (23/02/2022), as part of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers seized various quantities of MDMA, Ketamine and LSD with an estimated value of €48,000 following the search, under warrant, of a premises in the Wicklow area.

The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Wicklow Divisional Drugs Unit.

A follow up search of a vehicle resulted in the recovery of four firearms, which were subsequently seized by An Garda Síochána. Two men, aged 30 and 26, and two women, aged 25 and 23, were also arrested by An Garda Síochána. They are currently detained for questioning, subject to relevant provisions, at Bray and Wicklow Garda Stations.

Investigations are ongoing.

This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
